Barbara was my step aunt and I will always remember her for her hospitality and kindness. She came into our family a few years after my aunt, Joan, died. Brian had had a lonely time since Joan's death. The change in him when he and Barbara became “an item” was lovely to see. Brian and Barbara always welcomed us with apparent delight whenever we went to Glastonbury and we enjoyed their visits when they came to stay with us. When my father was dying Barbara spent a week of what was supposed to be her holiday cooking and running our house so that I could spend time with Dad in hospital. As Brian became frailer she cared for him despite having her own health problems. Though I'm sure she often had tough times she usually had a smile and an amusing tale to tell. Sue Leigh.
